OUR EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM
La Maison du Dodo Childcare Centre offers a unique program – a blend of Emergent curriculum in French and Montessori principles. We cater to the educational, emotional and social needs of our students in a supportive and enriching environment. Our program foundations are aligned with the Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years.
Our French Immersion Program, combined with Montessori principles, offers a holistic approach to early childhood education, fostering language acquisition, independence, and a love for learning.
What if my child does not speak French? Rest assured; we welcome children regardless of their French language proficiency. All instructions in our Montessori program are conducted in English, while our French Immersion Program offers French language instructions. Proficient or not in French, your child will have the opportunity to learn and be exposed to both official languages in a child-centered, learning environment.
Our childcare provides a quiet, peaceful, and home-like atmosphere in all our classes. We aim to create an environment that helps our students focus more on their learning.
Please refer to our program handbook for more information.
LUNCH AND SNACKS
We also offer healthy lunch and snacks based on the seasonal products. Each season brings its own natural and healthy products on the market or straight from the gardens.
We believe in the motto – un esprit sain dans un corps sain (“a healthy mind in healthy body”) – thereby driving us to offer nutritious food made from fresh produce. All meals and most of the snacks are prepared in our kitchen by our chef who adds a pinch of love to very plate!
PARENTS COMMUNICATION AND INVOLVEMENT
At La Maison du Dodo Childcare Centre, we believe in the importance of parental engagement in the learning journey of their child. Daily and weekly communication between teachers, administration and parents provides insights into what the child is doing at school and what is on the menu.
Parents become more involved through the Parents-Teachers Association, participating in activities geared towards the well-being of the child. As a community, parents, teachers, and administration work together to provide the child with the platforms needed to express themselves and develop throughout the learning process.
